SINGAPORE — On March 28, 2025, Uwing International School successfully hosted its outdoor activity day, themed “Walkathon@Mandai Boardwalk.” The event drew over 60 students from the primary and secondary divisions, alongside their parents, who embarked on a vibrant trekking challenge along the picturesque Mandai Boardwalk rainforest trail.
Connecting with Nature, Relieving Academic Pressure

The chosen venue, the Mandai Boardwalk, is one of Singapore’s renowned ecological trails. Connecting various wildlife parks, the route is lush with greenery and rich in biodiversity. Throughout the walk, students not only improved their physical fitness and relieved academic stress but also gained a deeper understanding of Singapore’s natural ecosystem through educational insights provided by their teachers.
Fostering Mutual Support and Collective Spirit
With 16 years of educational experience, Uwing International School has proven that group activities are instrumental in enhancing students’ social skills while fostering empathy and cooperation. The spirit of teamwork shone brightly throughout the multi-kilometer trek. For instance, secondary students were quick to offer support to younger pupils, taking over their heavy backpacks when they grew tired or shielding them when they encountered monkeys along the path. During breaks, primary students shared their snacks with their older peers. Such collective experiences also helped many naturally introverted students open up and engage more confidently with their community.
